From Paris With Love
Starring: John Travolta, Jonathan Rhys Meyers
I loved Liam Neeson's 2009 thriller Taken so I was really looking forward to John Travolta's From Paris With Love. Both were directed by Pierre Morel who knows how to film an action sequence and they're both set in Paris, a city Morel knows like the back of his hand.
Dear John
Starring: Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried, Richard Jenkins
Rating: 3.5 STARS
In the new romantic melodrama Dear John, Channing Tatum proves he is more than an six-pack ab man. As the career soldier John Tyree, Tatum has several scenes in which he knocks his character's emotions out of the ball park.
Edge of Darkness
Starring: Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Bojana Novakovic
RATING: 2 STARS
I'd wager Mel Gibson has more dialogue in his new drama Edge of Darkness than he did in all four Lethal Weapon movies. There is some tense action along the way but not enough to justify the final blood bath.
High Life
Starring: Timothy Olyphant, Stephen Eric McIntyre, Joe Anderson, Rossif Sutherland
Rating: 2.5 STARS
The would-be bank robbers in High Life are not just the gang who couldn't shot straight but the gang who couldn't think straight. Their big problem is that they're never actually straight. They're high on cocaine.
The Book of Eli
Starring: Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis
Rating: 1.5 STARS
I cannot believe someone at Warner Bros didn't stop the train wreck of a movie called The Book of Eli from leaving the station. Even the premise of the movie is ludicrous but when you watch it unfold on the screen it's laughable.
Butterscotch Cream Pie
Prep. 20 min. Serves 8
I thought it might be fun to add a great recipe that my family uses for special occassions. We call it the Kennedy Cream Pie, but it's really Butterscotch Cream Pie! It's fantastic anytime so enjoy this recipe!
